Bundeena Maianbar Art Trail It Started with a vision of ‘what if’ a group of artists, living in a small Village, could band together and invite the public to walk to each studio and experience their intimate spaces, embrace the atmosphere, the smells of paint, curiosity of watching live creatives hands on, and chat? Could this a possibility, reality even? Well it was and indeed still is a reality.

As 2026 is the twenty fifth year of existence for the Art Trail, it has proven the concept works well (after lots of hard work and dedication) as can be attested to by the number of tourists and visitors that come from all over Australia and overseas to visit our shores. Attraction is mostly referred by ‘word of mouth’ and ‘reputation’. It is seen as a day out seeing Art.
Those that joined were pioneers as the Art Trail concept was the first in Australia
The first Sunday of the month was chosen as it would become easy to remember and was an instant success from January 2001. We started with 8 or 9 artist/locations and currently have 19 Creatives exhibiting across a wide range of disciplines.
In the spirit of reconciliation, the Bundeena Maianbar Art Trail acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to the Dharawal people and their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
