Now almost 70, John has juggled running a successful business with a busy family life for the better part of 40 years. It has only been in the last 10 years that he has truly started exploring his artistic passions and discovered the satisfaction that comes from painting and drawing. John's work shows a traditional approach to a broad range of subjects including; landscapes, seascapes, city and townscapes, and a real love for the Australian bush. He has a great eye for the way light plays on subjects and also with transitions in colour and hue. John’s subjects are often balanced with figures, which help bring atmosphere and mood to the scenes, and also convey a constant in his works that is a striving for peace and tranquillity. |
