I have been interested in all aspects of art and art making since childhood. Now as a mother of four, I find myself juggling time to continue my studio practice. In my youth, I entered numerous art shows in Wagga Wagga and Sydney and won prizes. My art making includes painting, pastel, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media and printmaking. I am continuing to develop my own style and technique and find that over the years many changes and improvements have taken place. There is always a new project that I’m working on in my house.
Creativity gives me a sense of belonging and allows me to express my inner thoughts and fulfill an undying love for art. Over the years I have studied Art Theory and History as well Art Practice. In the late seventies I studied graphic arts with ICS in Melbourne and then completed degree and pursued a career in nursing. To further my knowledge, I enrolled in St George Tech in the eighties, studying ceramics and also the spray painting of cars (it was here where I learnt to spray paint images on cars). In the early nineties I attended an art course and learnt colour combinations and in the late nineties embarked in a Bachelor of Arts Degree for secondary teaching at the NSW University, COFA. Graduating in early 2002 I have taught art to country and city students. Other art events I regularly enter are the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prizes and art shows in Tumut and Bundeena (such as The Art of Living Festival) and of course The Art Trail.
Art is a gift and
allows me spiritual peacfulness and freedom. |
